Review remaining balances on accounts after insurances have paid to determine appropriate next action
Review denials by insurances for entire claims and for line items to determine of additional follow up is needed
Write and submit appeals
Answer phone inquiries from patients and insurance regarding bills, charges, and account status
Resolve issues holding up timely claim payment, including requests for medical records, coordination with Customer Service and other related departments
Requiredqualifications for this position include:
Medical terminology and medical coding training
Experience in hospital insurance billing
Knowledge and understanding of coding classification systems
Knowledge of state and federal regulations as they pertain to billing processes and procedures
Preferredqualifications for this position include:
Bachelor degree in Finance, Business Management or health care administration
Experience with Automated Systems; Epic
